Chat Story (the "app") is an interactive chat-story game. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app, why it is collected, and how it is processed. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
distinct_id): a random
identifier assigned to each install. It is not linked to your personal identity.user_name): only if you choose
to enter one for use within the story. If you don't enter one, the value
"no_name" is sent instead. You are never required to enter your real name.We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data. The app does not use an account or login system.
For two purposes: (1) product analytics, to understand which episodes are played, where users drop off, and to improve the app and the stories; and (2) advertising measurement and interest-based advertising, to measure whether the campaigns promoting this app work, and to help make the ads you are shown more relevant.
We do not sell your data. For the advertising purpose, your advertising ID and app events are shared with Meta as described below. No ads are displayed inside the app itself.
Analytics events are processed through our third-party analytics provider, PostHog (posthog.com/privacy), and may be stored on servers located in the United States. Only the app developer has access to this data.
For advertising measurement the app uses the Meta Platforms (Facebook) SDK. Your advertising ID and your install/launch/session events are transferred to Meta, which may also process them for its own purposes under its own privacy policy. Meta is therefore not merely a processor but a party the data is shared with. You can manage Meta's advertising preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.
Analytics data is retained for at most 24 months. To request deletion of the
data associated with your install, contact us at the address below and
include your install ID (distinct_id); we delete it within 30

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Since the app does not collect personally identifying information beyond what's described above, most requests can be fulfilled by providing your install ID. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we collect from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
If we make changes to this policy, we will publish the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
